FALCOM SAR Murabha Fund

Murabaha is a kind of sale in Islam, where commodities are sold with known profit added on the original price on deferred payments basis. Murabaha has been used by Islamic banks as a financing mechanism where the Bank – Financial Institution - buys the commodities in cash and sells them on behalf of the customer.

The Fund's objectives are to provide current income and liquidity consistent with short-term money market rates and to preserve the value of fund holder's investment. The Fund provides investors with a Sharia-compliant investment solution that generates competitive market returns from short-term Murabaha investments with a high degree of capital preservation and superior liquidity.

These Funds offer the investors the opportunity to invest with steady capital appreciation and relatively high degree of capital preservation of their investments. To achieve the Fund's objectives, the Fund Manager employs short-term Murabaha transactions.

The FALCOM US Dollar, Saudi Riyal and Euro Murabaha Funds offer the investors an Islamic alternative to conventional Money Market products. The Funds invest in short-term Murabaha (Trade Finance) transactions executed in accordance with Shariah principles.

All trading profits are reinvested in the Funds, thus increasing their unit price. The large size of the Funds collective investments ensures diversification and lower risk.

The Funds are considered to be low risk investments because it trades only with institutions which have a good reputation and sound financials. In addition, only short–term transactions are executed in the Funds. The maximum term of any individual transaction does not exceed one year in duration. Overall the Fund's portfolio has an average maturity of approximately three months or less.
